Senior Carpenter

Bruin Builders is growing our team and we are on the hunt for a Senior Carpenter.

  • Extremely competitive hourly rate – well above award wage
  • Performance bonus structure
  • Superannuation
Position Qualification requirements:

Essential – 3 years in the residential renovations industry

The position requires the successful applicant to have a Car license and own vehicle. Must own their own tools.

  1. White Card
  2. Certificate III Carpentry

The key role accountabilities include:
  1. Works are completed to a professional/Bruin standard.
  2.  Carry works out independently as instructed and assist Site Supervisor in the monitoring of all trades and junior Bruin team to ensure works are completed with care, attention to detail, foresight and to the highest quality achievable.
  3. Instillation Guides for all materials are available and always adhered to.
  4. Plans/specifications/install guides etc are interpreted correctly and tasks are carried out independently.
  5. Australian Standards and Tolerances and OHS are available, consistently referred to and executed, sites are assessed for safe practices – safety is number 1 priority.
  6. Application of the following – Building Act 1975, Building Regulations 2006, National Construction Code 2019, all relevant Australian Standards and QBCC Standards and Tolerances.
  7. Defects are minimal to none.

Supervisor/Leading Hand

Bruin Builders is growing our team and we are on the hunt for a Supervisor/Leading Hand.

Position Qualification requirements:
  1. White Card
  2. Certificate III Carpentry
  3. QBCC Site Supervisors License
Position Experience:

Essential – 3 years renovation industry

Desirable – 2 years managing a team

The position requires the successful applicant to have a Car license and own vehicle.

 

The key role accountabilities include:
  1. Ensure project sites are safe and tidy at all times by (including but not limited to) keeping walkways and roadways clear and accessible, fall protection in place, rubbish cleared and council land free of debris and obstructions.
  2. Planning of project in line with schedule ensuring the critical path is followed – FORESIGHT
  3. Coordinating of trades to project site
  4. Ordering of correctly specified materials and quantities as per contract documentation
  5. Notifying Project Manager of any possible changes to schedule weekly
  6. Review docs at initial project handover, to ensure all relevant safety docs are accounted for and maintained throughout each project
  7. Upholding Bruin culture, standard, quality and practices on project sites
  8. Closely monitor all trades and Bruin team to ensure works are completed with care, attention to detail, with foresight and to the highest quality achievable
  9. Directing and guiding Bruin team members to tasks in line with individual ability and knowledge  
  10. Application of the following – Building Act 1975, Building Regulations 2006, National Construction Code 2019, all relevant Australian Standards and QBCC Standards and Tolerances
  11. Defects are minimal to none
